The Herringbone

Herringbone is familiar from classic parquet floors. Here it's built from the end grain of pale beech and dark American walnut. Every strip in the zigzag is made of precisely cut pieces, so the lines meet cleanly across the whole board.
A juice groove runs around the cutting surface.

Like every board that leaves the workshop, this one started as raw lumber: milled, cut, glued with high-quality adhesives and sanded. The wood was then soaked in mineral oil, sealed with Ledicode board oil (food-safe and VOC-free) and finished with a hard Deylina wax that seals the pores of the wood.

Care: wash by hand with water and mild soap, and dry right away. Not dishwasher safe. Every so often, rub in a thin coat of board oil to keep the wood in good shape for years.
