The Basketweave

Small maple triangles sit between the cherry squares, and each square has a thin walnut outline. The triangles make the eye read the pattern as a woven basket, with a depth that isn't really there in the wood.
At almost 4 cm thick, it's a solid, heavy board that stays put while you work. It has a juice groove and rubber feet underneath.

Like every board that leaves the workshop, this one started as raw lumber: milled, cut, glued with high-quality adhesives and sanded. The wood was then soaked in mineral oil, sealed with Ledicode board oil (food-safe and VOC-free) and finished with a hard Deylina wax that seals the pores of the wood.

Care: wash by hand with water and mild soap, and dry right away. Not dishwasher safe. Every so often, rub in a thin coat of board oil to keep the wood in good shape for years.
